Describe how to integrate the components of health literacy and cultural considerations into a health promotion teaching plan for one health need identified in the research.

My identified cultural group is the deaf community that uses American Sign Language (ASL). For this group, I will focus on managing chronic illnesses such as diabetes, which is a key health need. Many deaf people experience barriers when learning how to manage chronic disease (Litchman et al., 2025). For instance, they may fail to understand when nurses are teaching about nutrition and physical activity because most health education is presented verbally.
