    Answer

Critical thinking is an essential skill in nursing practice as it allows nurses to make sound clinical judgments that promote patient safety. It involves collecting and analyzing information, evaluating different options, and applying evidence-based reasoning to make informed decisions. Through critical thinking, nurses can recognize potential risks, respond quickly to changing patient conditions, and minimize errors when delivering care (Dewi et al., 2021). As such, nurses apply critical thinking to prioritize essential tasks when responding to patient needs, thereby improving patient outcomes.
